Intu AI API
The Intu AI API lets you embed our AI education tools — tutoring chat, quiz and exam generation, marking, and study tools — into your own product with a single API key. It’s organised around predictable, resource-oriented URLs, returns JSON, and uses standard HTTP verbs and status codes.

Each app is gated by your subscription. Calling an app you’re not entitled to returns 403 APP_NOT_ENABLED.

Catalog endpoints (Subjects, topics, Personas) are available to any authenticated key, scoped to your subscription.
Conventions
- Authentication — every request carries your API key. See Authentication.
- Students — pass a
user_idon every request made for one of your students (root of the body on POST, query string on GET). It attributes usage and keeps each student’s data separate. ⚠️ It is becoming required on student-scoped requests — see Upcoming change: user_id required. - Async work — generation endpoints return
202 Acceptedimmediately; receive results via webhooks or by polling. - Errors — failures use a consistent JSON envelope. See Errors.
